In the great void between worlds, a signal shrieks out into the dark. A lone Star Fort sits at the fringe of Imperial space, waiting to be found. Its signal reaches Loyalists and Traitors alike, beckoning those to its aid. What waits within its treacherous halls?
Our Horus Heresy narrative campaign begins with both sides of the war responding to the distress signal of “The Cyrethian” , a massive abandoned Star Fort. Boarding the vessel they encounter each other, and begin to fight for control throughout the winding corridors of the station.
The Campaign follows our initial campaign start Mega-Battle, and will determine how the forces of both the Emperor and the Warmaster fair after the opening volleys on the Cyrethian.
List Building: For the first chapter of our campaign we are confined to the depths of the Star Fort, meaning that all games played will be Zone Mortalis Games. Players are not restricted to playing a specific army, but are required to stay on the same side of the war (Loyalist or Traitor) for the duration of the first chapter of the campaign. Each player should bring a 1500 point list, made using the Zore Mortalis Assault Force Organization chart and restrictions from the Siege of Cthonia book.
Players may not include more than 1 Dreadnought or Thanatar in their list for this event.
Players may not use any units with the “Unique” subtype.
The Campaign Players will be fighting for control of certain sectors on The Cyrethian to establish dominance over the station. The Chapter of the campaign is won by the side with control over the most sectors. Sector control is determined by the victory points earned in each game by each side. Each side's control will go up by the number of victory points earned in that game, meaning even scraping a few victory points up in a particularly devastating loss still helps your team from falling too far behind.
The number of sectors fought over will be determined by the number of players in the campaign, and each sector will have a specific mission that is played when a game happens there.
Participants are also encouraged to work on and complete new models for their forces during the campaign, with players being rewarded with a number of sector control points for each unit that they complete which can be assigned to any sector. Growing the forces is important for an ongoing war!
A full campaign rules document will be available closer to the launch of the campaign.
