Mined for thousands of years for both its copper content and green pigment, ancient Egyptians associated malachite heavily with the cycle of life and death, even referring to the afterlife as a “field of malachite”. There are those who believe that the malachite stone helps to ward off depression when worn or interacted with regularly.
