Call to Arms: Flames of War registration opens today! Check out the details:
Flames of War is the most popular historical game at Black Knight Games. The game focuses on the armies of World War II, allowing the player to collect any faction, or even specific division, in the war. Flames of War is a smaller scale: 15mm, and relies on squads of infantry, support vehicles and of course tanks. Which side will you take when the German war machine moves on Europe? Join today!
Entry Fee: $150.00
You Get: $175.00 towards miniatures for the contest (yes just for signing up you get a deal!)
Begins: Monday, May 14th
Registration Ends: Friday, July 6th
Deadline: Sunday, July 15th
Victory Conditions: Each player must try to complete a legal 1250 point Flames of War force from either the Mid or Late era. In addition, the participant must contribute at least two journal entries to the Call to Arms blog by the deadline. Journal entries are simple updates on how your project is going, and can include details, pictures, or even links to a blog that you might have. Participants can submit their journal entries to info@blackknightgames.ca
Victory Pool: In addition to the deal that you get right off the top, Black Knight Games will be putting $25.00 into a Victory Pool for each participant. Anyone that completes their force (fully painted & based) by the deadline, and has submitted their minimum two journal entries will be given an even share of the Victory Pool.
Deadline Gaming: On the date of the deadline, Sunday, July 15th, we will be running a small tournament or mega-battles for all of the victorious participants. So you get a chance to play with your new army right away, against other fully painted armies, and against competitors with a similar amount of experience playing with it. This always makes for some very fun matches.
Armies: Forces must be a legal 1250pts. Participants may use the miniatures that they have gotten with their entry fee, as well as miniatures that they already own as long as they are not already painted, or they may buy additional miniatures. If participants wish to use miniatures they already own they must prove that the miniatures are not finished beforehand.

Apocalypticon 2012!!!

It’s back! Black Knight Games and MiniWarGaming are partnering again to bring you the biggest battle you’ve every been in. Last year was the second year for Apocalypticon, although it was the first time that BKG was involved, and we had 43 participants and over 250,000 points of Warhammer 40,000 in the game. This year we are hoping to at least double that, if not more. The event will be held in Hamilton this year, in fact we are holding it at the Emmanuel United Church’s gym, which is only a stone’s throw away from Black Knight Games.
We have opened up registration to anyone that has at least a 3000 point army, and there are many slots however we are expecting it to fill up quite quickly, so if you are interested please register soon! You can find all of the details on the apocalypti-con.com website, but here are the basics:

Friday, August 10th, 5pm-9pm
Saturday, August 11th, 8:30am-5pm (but be prepared to stay later just in case)
Entry Fee: $50.00, includes both days gaming and an Apocalypticon T-Shirt!

Avacyn Restored Pre-Releases 3 & 4 Have Been Cancelled

I have some unfortunate news to announce. Black Knight Games had been planning on running four pre-release events for Avacyn Restored, however due to an unfortunate error we were not shipped enough booster packs to cover all four events!
We have checked all of the options, however it does not seem that we will be able to fix the problem in time.
As a result, we must unfortunately cancel our Avacyn Restored Pre-Release on Saturday night (7pm start) as well as the Sunday event (12pm start).
I am truly sorry for this. Everyone that has pre-registered will get their money back, and will be given the Promo-Card as well as the swag from the Hellvault for free. We will also note that you have $5.00 credit towards any future event that we hold.
This is not a common thing for us, and though it was not directly our error that caused the situation I am nonetheless extremely sorry for the situation.

The first Magic: the Gathering season in our Knights of the Realm program is here! The 2012 season of Magic will last three and a half months and include several tournaments, FNMs, and a league. All of these events will add to each player’s renown, both for participation and for achievement in the events. At the end of the season we will have a playoff amongst the top four players for bragging rights and prizes!
Joining the Knights of the Realm leaderboard is open exclusively to Stronghold Members, and is free! Simply let the staff know you would like to join up.
Season Prizes: There will be several prizes to the participants of the Season. The victor of the playoff will get a $50.00 Black Knight Games gift card, and their name on the in-store plack of champions! Other participants in the final four matchup will get $25.00 gift cards. So $125.00 in prizes will be given out, and joining up is free!

Small World Tournament

We will be running a tournament for Small World! Days of Wonder have created some great prize kits, so we will be having our first board game tournament in a long time. Here are the details:
When: Sat, June 30th, 12:00pm – 6:00pm
Entry Fee: $5.00
Rounds: 3 (two preliminary matches, one championship round)
Capacity: 15 Player Max, so reserve your spot now!
Prizes: First place wins a Small World Champion T-Shirt and a golden SW turn marker, seven silver SW turn markers will be awarded as well!
