MTG: Core Set 2021 Prerelease Hangout

This weekend is the Core Set 2021 Prerelease Weekend! And while we aren’t able to host our usual packed-store prerelease events, that doesn’t mean we can’t get together, experience the set a bit, crack some packs, and win some prizes – we just have to get a bit creative! We will be gathering folks on Zoom on the Saturday night of prerelease weekend to Chill with Phil with a Core Set 2021 Prerelease Hangout!

How it will work:
Phil will be hosting an open Zoom Meeting. Jump on, chat about all things M21, crack some prerelease packs, and just visit with the members of the community you miss! We encourage you to keep some of your M21 product sealed so that you can open it on the stream because we will have a prize/contests for those that do!

Are there any benefits for joining in?
Absolutely! We want to reward you for being a part of our community even through all this, so Phil will have a little challenge or contest or giveaway for those participating. There will be a prize of some sort relating to the cards people crack on the stream too.

How and When to Join:
Saturday, June 27th from 6:30pm – 830pm

MTG: Core Set 2021 Singles Opening Hangout

It feels like just yesterday that Ikoria dropped, but believe it or not it’s M21 time! One of the steps we always take when a new set arrives is to open up some for the store to kick off our MTG singles collection for the new set. With Ikoria we tried something new for the first time and loved the response, so we’re trying it again: a Zoom Hangout where we open up the packs for our singles!

How it will work:
Several staff will be taking home sealed Core Set 21 stock to open up, and we will be hosting an open Zoom Meeting where they will be opening it all up. Members of the BKG community are encouraged to join us and virtually hang out while we do so, talking about everything from the new set, to how we’re keeping sane during lockdown!

Are there any benefits for joining in?
Absolutely! We want to reward you for being a part of our M21 Launch experience, so we will be doing a couple things to keep you engaged and reward your participation. First of all, ‘Dibs’ will be in effect for those that are watching. If you see a card you really want opened you can let us know and we will put it aside for you! Secondly, we will be doing some fun give-aways and maybe even a little competition or two. So just by watching you can win some free Magic stuff!

How and When to Join:
Monday, June 29th from 7:30pm – 9:30pm

Remote Painting Table

We always feel that the best way to paint is in a group.  Newer painters can ask questions and learn, good painters get to show off a little, you can bounce ideas off each other, and just enjoy the company of those that share this wonderful hobby with you.

We’ve moved our Painting Table event to be digital! We’ll be hosting a weekly Painting Table via Zoom, and posting the link to join in both the Discord and our BKG in Exile Facebook group. Come hang out and hobby from the comfort of your own home!

When: Every Tuesday from 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Entry Fee: None! Just join the Zoom and paint!

How to Join: We will post the link for the zoom meeting each week on Facebook, our events page, and Discord. Click it an join! You’ll need a camera, which you can either position to look at your miniature as it’s being painted, or on your face – whatever you prefer.

(Meeting ID: 933-5136-4365  //  Password: sigmar)

New Painters: Want to learn how to paint, or something new?  Perfect!  We will have staff online, and they’ll be more than happy to teach you what they know.  Other painters will be sure to pipe in with their own advice.  So, while this isn’t an organized seminar event, it will be a great spot to learn, and in some ways even better because you’ll learn tailored to the project you are working on.

Blood Bowl BKBBL Home League Season 1

Attention Blood Bowl Coaches in exile! We have been playing some pickup games of Blood Bowl on the PC Game Blood Bowl 2 over the past month or so, but now we are ready to take things to the next level: a proper competitive league online!

When: Sign up by May 9th, Week 1 starts May 10th

Entry Fee: $10, you can either call or message us to arrange payment, or use the PayPal button below!

Format: Each participant will be assigned opponents, one a week. The number of matches is determined by sign ups. It is up to the coaches to arrange when to play their games with one another, and players are given a one-week window for each match to be completed. The top teams will make the playoffs, and will get their chance to win the Championship!

How Do I Join?: First you will need a copy of the video game Blood Bowl 2 on PC (X-Box and others won’t be able to join the same league). Send us your Username and Team Name (via FB Messenger, or through the PayPal link as you pay). You will receive an invite to the league soon! Only new TV1000 teams, or ones from the BKBBL open ladder can join the league.

But what’s the point if I can talk some smack!?: Consider joining our BKBBL FB Group, or our Discord Server too for all that sweet smacktalk!

Prizes: The entry Fees will be put towards some fun prizes based on overall attendance.

D&D Knights of the Hearth (Remote D&D)

Attention Dungeons & Dragons players in isolation! We can’t take it anymore, we need to host some D&D! And we’ve finally sorted out how to do so using an online platform called Roll20! These sessions will be from the safety of your very own home, and will be hosted by BKG Staff (DM Cody for these first couple) who have prepared a premium gaming experience for you, as best as we can  😉

When: We are hosting four more one-shot four-hour-long sessions, as well as beginning a longer campaign of 4 back-to-back weeks for a single group.

Wednesday, April 29: 6:00pm – 10:00pm
Sunday, May 3: 6:00pm – 10:00pm
Wednesday , May 6: 6:00pm – 10:00pm
Wednesday, May 13: 6:00pm – 10:00pm

Entry Fee: $15.00 each

Sundays (4 Sessions): May 10-May 31, 6:00pm – 10:00pm

Entry Fee: $55.00

To Register: To register call in or FB message the store.

Player Cap: There is a player cap for these adventures, so be sure to sign up right away. But fear not if you miss out, the goal of these adventures is to test things out, so we absolutely intend to add additional adventures to our future offerings to meet demand!

Will these be linked to future adventures?: Sort of, the one-shot sessions will likely tie in with each other a bit story arcs. The linked 4 session experience is more like the ones we did on Monday nights, in our Knights of the Red Dragon Inn series’ of four weekly adventures.

Format: We will be using the Roll20 online roleplay system, which manages D&D character sheets, allows the DM to share maps and such, handles dice rolling, and even handles communication using audio and video! This means you WILL need to sign up for Roll20 – but fear not, it’s free!

You will also need a computer with at least a mic, but ideally a camera on it to best communicate with the team. Having a D&D Player’s Handbook within arms reach is never a bad idea either.

DM Cody will have a specially built campaign ready to go complete with maps, and other components do allow you to delve deeply in to the worlds you will create together.

Prizes: Just like our in-store premium sessions you can expect the opportunity to be rewarded for excellent gameplay! DM Cody will assign the occasional prizes to players.

So help us give this new digital format a try! Join us for some remote D&D sessions!
