MTG Double Shot: Worlds Viewing Party & Standard Preliminary

February is a very busy schedule for MTG at Black Knight Games, which is why we are having THREE Double Shot weekends, one for each of the three constructed formats. On FEB 15 we will be hosting a pair of Standard Events: a WPNQ Preliminary, and our Worlds Viewing Party event where you can get a FOIL Crucible of Worlds! Here are the details for both:

One special event we are able to run as a Premium Store is the Worlds Viewing Party, which is a fun Standard event where participants play some Standard, watch the stream of the MTG World Championship, and maybe even win a sweet promo of their own – a FOIL Crucible of Worlds!

When: Saturday, February 15th, 11:00am

Format: Standard, Swiss (4 Rounds), No Cut

Entry Fee: $15.00 (Stronghold Members get a Hero’s Reward) – Save $5 on the entry of the event later today if you play in both!

Prizes: The Top 16 players will each earn a special FOIL promo Crucible of Worlds! Additionally a prize pool made up of $10.00 per participant will be divided among players that get at least a 3-1 record.

In order to earn a coveted invite to the Player’s Tour there are a couple of paths one might take, but only one goes through your friendly local game stores: the WPN Qualifier (Or WPNQ), and Black Knight Games is lucky enough to be one of the only shops in Ontario able to host one!

This time we will be hosting ours as an Invitational event, with four Preliminaries leading up to it – like this one – where the Top 8 players will earn their spots at our WPNQ Final!

When: Saturday, February 15th, 3:00pm

Format: Standard, Swiss (3-5 Rounds), No Cut, REL Competitive.

Entry Fee: $15.00 (Stronghold Members get a Hero’s Reward) – Save $5 if you participated in the Worlds Viewing Party earlier in the day.

Prizes: The Top 8 players will each earn an invite to the WPNQ Final on March 7th. At this free event they will get a FOIL promo Cryptic Command, as well as a crack at some additional amazing prizes.

So, while most of the prize pool is put towards the big prize pool at the WPNQ Final, we will be adding at least 1 booster pack to the prize pool for each participant. So the top players will still get some prizes on this day.
