Kickstarter has long been a great way for small start-ups to get their ideas out there, and for established companies to float new ideas. Unfortunately, initially, this cut out places like Black Knight Games from the process. We want to be a part of bringing great new games to our customers, and supporting exciting new products. Now, many companies have figured out how to make places like Black Knight Games a part of this exciting process, and we are very happy to be able to bring you some great products from our partners on Kickstarter!
Why Pledge Through Retail?
When you pledge through Black Knight Games on these Kickstarters, you will get the same great products, at the same time as if you pledged yourself, for the same price! You will also avoid paying any additional shipping or duty charges. Lastly, you will be supporting BKG, and enabling us to continue to be a great spot that promotes your local gaming community!
What Projects Does Black Knight Games Back?
As a store we are very interested in many of the great projects that find their beginning on Kickstarter. We will be very enthusiastic about supporting projects that meet the following criteria:
- The project looks like something that our customers will be interested in.
- The Project Creators are interested in providing a retail pledge level, that isn’t prohibitive in scope.
- That pledge level leaves a reasonable percentage of profit for us to make our efforts worthwhile, without requiring too steep an up-front charge (we aren’t interested in spending $1000 up front on games we won’t have in stock for a year and a half)
- The shipping isn’t prohibitive to Canada.
This means that if you discover a Kickstarter that you are in love with, you should let us know! Perhaps the KS might be something BKG should bring in, allowing you to piggy back on our order!
