Call to Arms Age of Sigmar Coming Soon!

We are very excited to announce that we will be running our first Call to Arms in well over a year, and it will be for Age of Sigmar.

For those who haven’t participated in a Call to Arms, it is my favorite event type that we run.  In a Call to Arms all participants register an army they intend to complete, and a deadline is set.  Participants work away, encouraging each other, and play games along the way until the deadline arrives and everyone shows off their newly-painted armies.  We host a get-together for the Call to Arms participants, have food, play games, and check out each-other’s handy work.

The reason I love Call to Arms is that it really allows a community to gel.  Everyone, be they new players or experienced veterans, are sort of on the same level at the same time – playing a brand new army.  AND everything is painted!  It’s an almost magical time in the life of a community during and after a Call to Arms, when everyone is at the same spot in their hobbying.

So, we are obviously very excited to be running this multi-month event, and if you are interested in getting in to Age of Sigmar, or growing your collection, keep your eyes out for our full announcement – coming soon!

Entry Fee: $20.00 ($16.00 for Stronghold Members) – Includes Pizza lunch

Forces will be ‘Vanguard’ forces to 1500 points, using the ‘Pitched Battle’ rules on p. 106 in the General’s Handbook. Forces must follow the minimums for a Vanguard force (1-4 Leaders, 2+ Battleline units, 0-2 Artillery, 0-2 Behemoths).

Players may set aside any amount of points as ‘Reinforcement Points’ (p. 108 Generals Handbook). It is from their Reinforcement Points that players may summon, or otherwise add units to the game – units added in this way DO NOT need to be decided beforehand, so players can draw from any legal miniatures they have on hand – and may even use miniatures that had died earlier in the game.

Forces must be composed exclusively from models from one of the four Grand Alliances (Order, Chaos, Death, & Destruction), and may either take Alliance Abilities from their Grand Alliance, or from their Battletome.

Warscroll Detachments may be taken, however you must pay the additional points for them from the Points section in the General’s Handbook.

Prizes: We will provide prizes for the top 3 players overall, as well as bonus prizes for ‘Best Presentation’ and ‘Best Sport’ (as voted on by the participants), prizes take the form of store credit (based on attendance).

Stormcast players are encouraged to use the options in their fancy new Battletome.

If your army does not have specified rules (eg. Seraphon) then we can work together to create a list
