MTG Battlebond Preview Weekend

Battlebond is an exciting new side-set being released by WotC to bolster multi-player play.  Cards in Battlebond will work amazing in multi-player games of Commander, Two-Headed Giant, Emperor etc.  To celebrate this special release we will be holding a Preview Weekend, which is similar to a Prerelease with some differences:

When: We will be hosting three Battlebond Preview events:

Saturday, June 2nd, 10:00am
Saturday, June 2nd, 2:00pm
Sunday, June 3rd, 12:00pm

Entry Fee: $20.00 /or/ 6 Hero’s Rewards

Format: Two-Headed Giant Sealed (special Battlebond size pool) [Teams of 2], 3 Rounds, No Cut

Teams Get: Teams will get a total of only 6 Battlebond Booster Packs to build their two decks with.  Usually in a Two-Headed Sealed event it is 8 packs, but Battlebond is more efficient in this format so WotC recommends 6.  Basic lands will be provided.  Teams must build two 40-card minimum decks to play with.  Pay attention to interesting synergies like Partner when building your decks!  All participants will also get a Hero’s Reward, Stronghold Members will get a second one!

Prizes: 5 Battlebond Booster Packs/Team will be added to a Prize Pool.  Players will each win a booster pack for each match win and 1 pack per player will be added to a winners pool where any teams that go 2-1 get a bonus back each, and any teams that go 3-0 split the rest.

Kickstart: Arcadia Quest Riders

***UPDATE: Unfortunately we have discovered that CMON is only allowing this pledge to US pledgers – so we will no be able to take pledeges on this one – sorry for any inconvenience!***

Arcadia Quest: Riders is a campaign expansion for Arcadia Quest (or Arcadia Quest: Inferno!), players must defend the city of Arcadia against Malkhor, the Great Hunter, and his vicious Jacklols. But they don’t have to do it alone! Fighting alongside them in this all-new campaign, the Heroes will have the aid of the Mounts, enormous beasts of burden!

Why Would I Do That?

This expansion introduces a major new element to Arcadia Quest as these magnificent Mounts can carry Heroes across the map, pushing back against their foes and using their unique abilities to help their Riders!

By pledging through Black Knight Games instead you get several benefits:

  1. You don’t need to pay shipping!  Normally you would need to pay a separate shipping fee when the item ships.  Pledging through us means you don’t pay that, nor do you need to remember to check your email to make the payment – or risk missing out!  Note: we do collect sales tax, but this would always be less than the shipping, and you are guaranteed not to owe any duty charges.
  2. Support your FLGS!  One hang up for many people when using Kickstarter is that you are bypassing your Friendly Local Game Store.  By cutting out the FLGSs you aren’t doing anything to keep their doors open to you and the other members of the local gaming community.  But, through this Kickstarter you DO support your FLGS – AND – you support the game you are excited about!
  3. Get the game early, just like if you had Kickstarted it on your own!
  4. Get any of the add-ons you want, just like if you had Kickstarted it on your own!
  5. Gain the flexibility of making a pledge, changes to a pledge, or additions up to a month after the Kickstarter!  As a partner store we are able to modify our order as long as their pledge manager remains open, so pledging with us allows you all kinds of flexibility – even the ability to pledge late!
  6. Half Now/Half Later!  Normally with a Kickstarter you are asked to pledge the full amount up front, which means that your money is tied up for the entire duration of the Kickstarter.  When you pledge through BKG you have the option to only pledge half now, and pay the other half when you pick it up.
  7. Do it all for no added cost!  We agree to sell you all pledges and add-ons at exactly the same price as the Kickstarter.  So, you will pay $65 USD (based on that days exchange rate) for any of the basic pledge level (Board Game + Stretch Goals)!

Check out all the details on the Kickstarter on their KS Page!

So pledge now if you are a fan of Arcadia Quest, because who doesn’t want some sweet mounts for their chibi adventurers!?

Kickstart: Court of the Dead

There are many paths to uniting the Underworld, but only one Mourner will realize his or her vision. The player who wields his or her power and faction influence the best will gain the most points to win.

You and your fellow mourners must work together to bring balance to the Underworld, but… only one of you can truly Rise, Conquer, Rule!

Star Wars Legion Clash JUL

Star Wars Legion is the exciting game of big Star Wars battles!  At Black Knight Games we are very excited about this game, and we have scheduled a series of tournaments, as well as ‘Clash’ events, here are the details of our third Clash event, the final of the first series of three!:

This is the 3rd Clash event, to after this one we will pick the Big Winner!

Additionally all participants will get a Hero’s Reward for participating, and Stronghold Members will get a second one!

D&D: Mordenkainen’s Early Release!

The latest Dungeons & Dragons book, Mordenkainen’s Tomb of Foes, is here!

Since Black Knight Games is a registered WPN store, we not only get to sell the book over a week early, but we also have a special limited edition cover version of the book in stock as well – only available at WPN stores on release.

We have both editions for sale as of today, and of course they will earn you a FREE set of dice when you buy them since they are Hard Cover (and count towards our on-going RPG Book promotion).

Recall Notice: Some of the Special Edition covers have some minor scuffing on the spine.  WotC has recognized this problem, and if you would like they have issued a recall that we can take advantage of.  Most of the books we got are in pretty great shape, but if you are unsatisfied with the condition of your special edition book we can send it back and they will issue us a replacement copy for you.

This book follows in the footsteps of Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, and that was their best-selling book EVER, so this is a must-have for D&D GMs and Players alike!

Age of Sigmar Call to Arms

It is an exciting time for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.  With a new edition update coming, a couple of amazing recent new armies, and loads of cool stuff in the wings – it’s the perfect time to jump in to an Age of Sigmar army – which is why we are very pleased to announce our first Call to Arms army-building league in over a year!

What is a Call to Arms?: Call to Arms is one of our most popular event types.  It is an army-building league where everyone begins a new army, and aims to completely paint it by a deadline.  What makes it so fun is that everyone is on the same page at the same time.  Events run during the Call to Arms compliment the stages of building an army (for example an event towards the beginning might be for a single painted hero model).  At the end players all end up with matching-sized, fully painted armies, and have a similar amount of experience with them – which is a fun thing to be a part of.

Call to Arms Begins: June 1st, 2018
Call to Arms Early-Bird: You can begin working on your army early as soon as you sign up!

Call to Arms Deadline: Labour Day, Monday, September 3rd (Party at 6pm)

Call to Arms Entry: $25.00 -or- 6 Hero’s Rewards -or- $15.00 for Knights of Blackwood members.

What You Get: For your entry fee you get the following:

  • Free Entry to all Age of Sigmar events during Call to Arms
  • A Call to Arms Collector’s Card – which has up to 10 Achievements to stamp.  You can redeem the card for $5.00 store credit for each stamp (up to $50.00 in value)
  • An invitation to the Call to Arms Finale Party, where we will have pizza, gaming, and prizes!

Call to Arms Collector’s Card: One of the main benefits of joining the Call to Arms is the Collector’s Card you get.  If you complete all nine achievements (including the double-one) you can earn double your C2A entry fee in store credit!  Here are the achievements you can earn credit for:

  1. Paint a Battleline Unit  must be a fully painted legal unit that was not painted before the C2A began
  2. Paint a Leader Unit  must be fully painted legal unit that was not painted before the C2A began
  3. Paint a centerpiece model  pick a cool focus of the army, like a big miniature, impressively based unit, or something that is a focus when looking at the completed army, must be a legal unit that was not painted before the C2A began
  4. Spend $35.00+ on Hobby Supplies  In a single transaction, stock up a little on supplies like paints, glue, flocks, and brushes
  5. Spend $50.00+ on Models for the Army  Get something for the army!
  6. Play a Game in the Store  Play an Age of Sigmar game in the store, with your C2A forces, this might occur during an official AoS event, or separately
  7. Hobby in the Store  Hang out in the store and do some painting, assembly, or other hobbying in the store
  8. Finish your 2000pt Army  The ultimate goal: finish a legal AoS army.  All models in the army must not have been painted before the C2A began
  9. Finish your Army by the Deadline If you complete #8 by the Labour Day deadline you will get a bonus 2 stamps!

Note: that the only stamp that requires you to actually finish by the deadline is the final one.  You can still complete your army after the C2A ends, and redeem the card.  You do not need to complete every box to redeem the card, it’s just better for you if you do since each box is worth $5.00.  Cards must be redeemed in 2018.

Call to Arms Finale Party: We will host a Finale Party at 6pm on Labour Day, Monday September 3rd.  All C2A participants are invited, whether you finished the Collectors Card yet or not.  At the party we will have pizza, drinks, gaming, and prizes!

There has never been a better time to jump in to Age of Sigmar, and we really hope you’ll join in to the Call to Arms!
